Calendars
Part-memoir, part narrative, mostly fiction made up of composite characters, Calendars remains tough to categorize.
“It’s about a guy in jail who writes a book about a guy in jail.”
Blood In My Eye, American Me, The Soledad Brothers, gave us a peak into the American Justice system. Now comes Space, who just released after serving a 96 month prison term for a spree of Bank robberies seeks to update us on the state of the American Justice System from the inside.
This true crime novel is like no other, in that this story is told in the voices of the perpetrators as they sit in their cells walk the yard, and stand in line in the chow halls and prison commissaries:
Mako, 3 counts of conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder, mistreatment of a corpse (dismemberment).
Space, 13 counts of 1st degree Aggravated Armed Robbery.
Starminka, tall fine and down for whatever.
Cream, Earl Shawn, Geddown, Detectives Ensor, and Spriggs, Rodney, Desi and Wacky Wayne: Busy getting dizzy, just trying to make it, just doing their job, just got in the way.
Only a convict could tell a story so real.
